The Network and Protocol engineering Laboratory (NPLAB) at Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT), Korea, is dedicated to investigating techniques to development of dependable systems in areas of software, network protocols, and embedded systems.
Real-time and safety-critical systems including hardware and software must be designed in an integrate and consistent way based on the model-driven approach. Integrated modeling with UML and SysML can produce dependable systems through functional verification and performance analysis.
For development of a SON system, coordination among SON functions should be carefully designed to avoid performance degradation due to conflicts among multiple management algorithms.
As complex networks have distinct topological characteristics, vulnerability of complex networks has been studied based on graph theory. Ad-hoc networks are complex communication networks that have dynamic decentralized infrastructure which makes it easy to deploy nodes and to grow into large-scale networks. Dynamic characteristics of ad-hoc networks, therefore, must be mainly considered in analyzing their vulnerability.
